Before buying my 2019 Hyundai Sonata I tried the Camry and Accord. All three have their good and bad points, but overall the Sonata is the pick of the litter.
I liked the Honda interior, but the Hyundai handled, accelerated and stopped better. Visibility and quietness was superior, too.
On cruise control this car gets unbelievable fuel mileage -- approaching 40 mpg. Put the car in Sport mode and its character changes dramatically to almost feel like a sport sedan
The Hyundai warranty is outstanding. I dug deep into the safety crash ratings and the Sonata takes first place.
I know Hyundai still has a poor reputation, but drive it and it's competitors to make up your own mind.
Fun fact of Sonata ownership: As there are fewer of them, people think the car is an Audi or Genesis. I may debadge mine just to have more fun with this.
By the way, the Sonata is noticeably cheaper to insure, probably because it's early depreciation is more than the Honda or Camry. Keep the car 7 years and that won't matter.…

Transmission failure at 78,000 miles. Fuel door failure just after. Front coil spring failure at 86,000. MPG has gone from averaging 35 to 25 after it's most recent maintenance service at 93,750 miles.…
